What’s the Story Behind Melaleuca Renew Lotion?
Many years ago, a PhD scientist was working for one of the largest consumer packaged goods companies in the world. While doing research at that company, the scientist created a formula for a dry skin therapy that would outperform all other lotions on the market.
The scientist took this breakthrough formula to the company’s management, feeling confident that the executives would be excited about such an effective and innovative product. To his surprise, the executives criticized the formula for being too effective and too expensive to produce. Discouraged, it wasn’t long before he left that company.
Years later, this same scientist began working for Melaleuca: The Wellness Company. Here, he refined and improved his original lotion formula. He brought the updated formula to Melaleuca management, and to his delight, the reception was very different!
The Melaleuca executives were excited about the idea. That’s because Melaleuca was founded on developing superior products powered by natural ingredients that grocery store brands deem too expensive to produce. The new lotion fit perfectly into the existing portfolio of Melaleuca’s wellness products. It was also a perfect fit for Melaleuca’s mission statement: “to enhance the lives of those we touch by helping people reach their goals.”
